BAKUCHIOL
Known as the "natural" vitamin A and the plant-based alternative to retinol. Bakuchiol is a vegan ingredient extracted from the seeds of the Babachi plant which grows in East Asia. This magic ingredient reduces sebum production, is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and exfoliating.
Bakuchiol is a milder version of retinol but with similar properties. It does not leave the same irritation that regular retinol can give but still leaves a similar result. It makes the skin smooth with minimized pores and reduced lines and wrinkles.
BHA acid
BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid). This is also known as salicylic acid. Exfoliates the skin while acting as an anti-inflammatory and is therefore good for acne and problem skin. BHA is fat-soluble, which means it goes into the pores and dissolves sebum and impurities. BHA penetrates deeper into the skin than AHA acid. Has a good effect on fine lines, acne and pigmentation.
Suitable for: oily/unhealthy skin with clogged pores.
Blue Tansy Oil (*Tanacetum Annuum)
Blue Tansy oil is extracted from a flower that grows in Morocco and is known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. The flower belongs to the chamomile family and they therefore share many properties. The oil gets its blue colour from the chemical reaction that occurs when they steam distill the flower. The oil is effective in treating conditions such as eczema, acne and sun damage.
Caviar Lime (Finger Lime - * Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract)
Caviar Lime (Finger Lime), also known as Pearl Lime, is a citrus fruit rich in organic acids. A natural source of AHA but with a different exfoliation process. The small delicate pulp pearls work for an even toned and healthy complexion. It helps to support collagen production and improve elasticity in the skin.
Ginger Root Extract
Ginger Root Extract has the ability to boost the natural capacity of the skin to repair and protect itself. The extract increases the blood circulation, which can result in a more even skin tone and improved elasticity in the skin.
Glycerin
Glycerin can draw moisture from the air around and help keep that moisture in the skin. It helps to strengten the skin's moisture barrier and leaves the skin soft and hydrated. Glycerin does also enhance the penentration of other ingredients into the skin's upper layer thanks to its low molecular weight. It can calm redness and inflammation in the skin and works for all skin types.
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is the smallest molecule of all AHA acids. This means that it penetrates the skin the fastest and most effectively. Produced naturally from sugar cane or synthetically. Breaks down the top layer of skin including dead skin cells to the next layer of skin. Glycolic acid can also stimulate collagen production, which has an anti-ageing effect.
Green Caviar
Green algae, known as green caviar due to its grape-like tiny spherical beads. This amazing caviar works as an efficient moisturiser and can be compared to hyaluronic acid. Since rich in vitamin C, it helps to limit pigmentation production for a more even toned and healthy-looking complexion. It helps to increase elasticity in the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is naturally found in our skin and works as a moisture binder, it can bind up to 1000 times its own weight. It is not an acid but a sugar molecule. It is the perfect moisturising ingredient and is essential for maintaining skin elasticity. It is hyaluronic acid together with the proteins collagen and elastin that builds our skin and makes it feel healthy and soft. The moisture content of the skin decreases with age. As a result, the skin loses its elasticity and tone.
Jojoba Oil
The liquid that’s produced from the seeds from the Jojoba plant. It has an ability to act like our skin’s natural oils and helps balance the body’s oil by tricking the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil. Rich in Vitamin E which helps reduce inflammation and soothes the skin. It also has antibacterial properties thanks to its high amount of iodine. It leaves your skin glowy. It also helps recude fine lines.
Kakadu Plum Extract
Extracted from Kakadu Plum, the world’s highest source of Vitamin C. Helps fight oxidative stress to reduce the appearance of fine lines. It has a high antioxidant action to protect cells against oxidative stress and leaves your skin radiant and luminous.
Lactic Acid
Lactic acid is derived from dairy products, such as milk, cheese, yogurt, but also fermented fruits and vegetables. The lactic acids in our products are of course vegan. It is often suitable for people who are sensitive to other AHA acids, as lactic acid is a milder version. Lactic acid is usually included in the group of Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMFs) that are naturally present in the skin and help the skin retain water. It helps exfoliate the skin and promotes cell renewal. Helps with collagen production, which has an anti-ageing effect.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil
Softening oil extracted from the seed of the meadowfoam flower. The oil leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturised. Thanks to its long-chain fatty structure, it provides a luxurious feel. It helps lock in moisture to combat dryness and softens the skin. This is a deep penetrating oil that soothes inflammation.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is an active form of vitamin B3 that is used in skin care to increase skin elasticity, reduce pores and work on pigmentation and uneven skin tone. Niacinamide is also beneficial as it is tolerated by almost all skin types. Niacinamide is easy to introduce into your skincare routine - it's suitable for all ages and skin types and doesn't need to be 'phased' into your routine, like retinol for example.
Oat oil (Nordic)
Oat oil has soothing and nourishing properties for sensitive skin. Oat oil provides fatty acids and antioxidants that protect and strengthen the skin's barrier. Contains ceramides that prevent dry skin and maintain cell structure. Oat Oil contains high levels of Vitamin E and acts as a restorative for the skin barrier.
Oat Oil
Oat Oil helps to soothe and moisturise the skin, and promotes healthy functioning of the skin barrier. May help to increase the ceramide levels in the skin. Oat oil can help recude inflammation and redness in the skin.
Peekaboo Active
Peekaboo Active is an active ingredient of natural origin that acts deeply in the skin. By stimulating fibroblasts’ activity, it provides support to the collagen fiber network and restores firmness and smoothness of the face and the body. Peekaboo Active can reduce fine lines and leaves your skin tightened and firmer.
PHA acid
PHA, Poly Hydroxy Acid, has a larger molecular composition making it a milder acid that does not exfoliate as powerfully as the AHA and BHA acids. That makes it suitable for sensitive skin with rosacea or eczema. It also prevents skin from being sensitive to sun exposure. In addition to providing a nice glow, PHA acid helps to keep the skin's moisture levels in balance. Works great as part of your daily routine.
Suitable for: sensitive skin and for daily use.
Polyglutamic acid is a water-soluble peptide. It consists of large molecules that form a film over the skin's surface and lock moisture into the skin. Polyglutamic acid is an incredible humectant that holds four times more moisture than hyaluronic acid.
Pomegranate Enzyme
Pomegranates contains chlorogenic acid, which functions as an anti-inflammatory, and has antimicrobial properties, both excellent for skin and scalp care appliactions. Pomegranate Enzyme is ideal for skin and hair care applications to promote gentle, yet effective, exfoliation by capitalizing on the properties of proteolytic enzymes. This product is optimal for revitalized skin.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is extracted from shea nuts and is especially good for dry skin. It provides a rich texture and moisturizes, nourishes the skin and forms a protective layer that encapsulates moisture to the skin. Shea butter also contains several active antioxidants, such as vitamins A, E and F.
Snow Mushroom - Tremella fuciformis
Has long been used in Chinese skin care as a moisturising ingredient. The main reason Snow Mushroom is used in skin care is its amazing ability to moisturize. Snow Mushroom is not unlike hyaluronic acid in its moisturizing properties. But with its smaller molecular composition, it penetrates the skin even more effectively than hyaluronic acid. The ingredient is perfect as a moisturizer for dry and irritated skin. Snow Mushroom also has anti-aging benefits.
Squalane
Squalane is a molecule that is a transparent and fragrance-free oil with many properties. Retains and locks moisture into the skin for rich hydration and provides a silky feel. Squalane is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive as it is non-toxic. It has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness, acne and irritation. Thanks to the fact that squalane locks in moisture and prevents moisture loss, it also helps repair the skin barrier.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a vitamin that the body can neither produce nor is particularly good at storing. The reason Vitamin C is good for the skin is because it has been shown to inhibit free radicals that cause wrinkles, uneven skin tone, reduced elasticity and skin ageing. In addition, Vitamin C has a mild cell renewal effect, resulting in a smoother, brighter skin tone with a glow. Ideal for scars, pigmentation and acne. Another great thing about vitamin C in skincare is that it promotes the production of the protein collagen, which gives skin plumpness, firmness and elasticity. As you age, you lose collagen, which is why vitamin C, along with collagen, has become a favourite ingredient in anti-ageing.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that has softening and repairing properties. Vitamin E restores the skin's moisture barrier and neutralises free radicals, which otherwise accelerate skin ageing. The anti-inflammatory vitamin also works well to improve scars and stretch marks.
Vitamin F
Vitamin F is not a traditional vitamin but rather a term for two fats - linoleic acid (LA) and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). ALA is part of the omega-3 family of fats, while LA belongs to the omega-6 family. Our bodies cannot produce Vitamin F on its own, so it may be helpful to supplement the vitamin yourself to maintain strong, healthy skin with a glow. For the skin, vitamin F deficiency can lead to dryness, among other things.
